Have you ever thought about when you order food from a food establishment or local caterer the overall experience falls short of your expectations? Additionally, when your event menu requires special dietary ingredients for your guests this adds an entirely new level of stress. The menu selection is limited and so is the knowledge of the person you are speaking.
“Same old same old” so often describes one’s experience ordering catering for a special event for the office or home. What started out as an exciting time for you planning the event to the actual big day becomes an after thought instead of a memorable moment in time.
In 2015-2018, 17.1% of U.S adults were on a special diet on any given day. We identified this as a serious problem but a big opportunity to help those looking for support when it comes to eating food that is safe.
Well, that’s exactly why we took to action, knowing our company could put a smile back on the many faces and reintroduce the joy of hosting an event without the wavering concerns. We are Fabled Table, a full-service catering company located in Pittsburgh, PA providing quality products and services to companies and individuals.
We can help! Our talented team can craft high-quality food and execute the fine details you deserve. We put the value of your experience into our product and people by using the finest; ingredients and hiring qualified professionals. We take the time to carefully listen and understand your needs to make you and your event an absolute success.

Lisa is a native Pittsburgher, who was influenced at an early age to the art of cooking and baking by her mother that would transcend a life-long passion. After attending the University of Pittsburgh, Lisa engaged in an extensive career in senior retail management with Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. While working at Saks, Lisa simultaneously began exploring her culinary desires by showcasing her gourmet baked goods. This left an indelible mark to this day on her and everyone who sampled her delectable delights. In 2001, Lisa moved back to Pittsburgh and opened a bakery café on Pittsburgh’s Northside, named Ugly Duckling Gourmet Edibles where she owned and operated for five years. Her business may have closed but Lisa’s passion and desire did not. During this time, Lisa met and later married husband and current business partner, Mike Fedalen, who happen to share many similar passions as Lisa. Since co-founding Fabled Table, Lisa has worked tirelessly to ensure that fundamental core values of Fabled Table of quality food and great service would not be compromised.
Mike and Lisa are the proud parents of a 14 year old, Anthony. Like any other busy American family, striking a life balance of work and play, Anthony helps establish these necessary ground rules. Mike and Lisa realized early on that establishing core values in life and in business provides real purpose to all that they do.
Mike is a native of the Philadelphia area. He has a fond liking for sports, anything outdoors and of course, good, healthy food. He began working in the food industry at the young age of 19 for large and small food establishments in Florida and New Jersey as well as Pittsburgh. Having worked his way up the ladder, starting at the bartender level he was recruited into the management training program where Mike later became General Manger of 120 employees and producing annual sales revenue of $4 million. Even though Mike has temporarily explored other interests, his real passion is in the food industry. Mike has lived in Pittsburgh for 25+ years with his wife, Lisa who own and operate Fabled Table, a full-service catering company. Mike’s extensive people management and operations background has provided him a solid base, learning all aspects of the business which included but not limited to hiring, training and developing hourly and managerial personnel. His most recent G.M position was with a local restaurant near Heinz Hall for six years before starting Fabled Table in 2009.
