Children’s Table Cooking Classes
2013 Winter & Spring Series
Children’s Table is a “hands-on” cooking class that strives to inspire and enable young people to make healthy food choices through the hands-on joy of food preparation. Children ages 6-13 prepare up to 5 recipes within a 2 hour class Saturday mornings 9:30-11:30. Each class has a different theme with a focus on different cuisine, produce, ingredients and occasionally a special guest speaker helps the students get a new perspective on the foods they prepare and eat.
Our goals are to:
- Teach the value of good nutrition and food safety as a lifelong skill.
- Encourage cooking as a manageable, rewarding and creative endeavor.
- Nurture overall self-confidence and self-worth.
- Be available to all children from across the socioeconomic spectrum.
